Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic
If you’re an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic, we’re looking for you to join our ever expanding team.
We currently have a team of four qualified mechanics and are looking for a fifth mechanic who has experience of working with HGV’s to join the team to support our fleet of fifteen heavy goods vehicles.
The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a variety of HGV vehicles, in addition to performing regular maintenance and service checks.
The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem solving skills and a passion for HGV’s.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, while being part of the team, and is willing to take on new challenges.
Responsibilities:
Carry out vehicle inspections, observing and reporting necessary defects.
Repair mechanical and electrical defects.
Perform routine maintenance on vehicles, including servicing and pre-planned maintenance.
Prepare and present vehicles for MOT.
Recover defective or damaged vehicles.
Attend breakdowns to carry out reactive repairs.
The successful candidate will be provided with a company vehicle and fuel.
